COOKIES POLICY

Due to the entry into force of the amendment of the “ Services of the Information Society law” (LSSICE) established by Royal decree 13/2012, it is compulsory to obtain the specific consent of the user of all the websites that use expendable cookies before meeting them.

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies and other similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies or pixels, are tools used by the web server to store and restore information concerning their users, as well as offering a proper operation of the site.

By means of the use of these devices the server is allowed to remember some data concerning the user, as well as their preferences of display of the server’s site, name and password, products of their interest, etc.

COOKIES AFFECTED BY THE REGULATION AND COOKIES EXCLUDED

According to the UE directive, cookies that require consent informed by the user are the analytic, advertisement and membership cookies, being excluded those with a technical character and the cookies that are necessary for the correct operation of the website or the service performance specifically asked by the user.

TYPES OF COOKIES

• ACCORDING TO THE PURPOSE

Technical and functional cookies: are those that enable the user browsing through a website, platform or app and the use of the different options or services that it contains.

Analytical cookies: are those that enable its owner to track and analyse the behaviour of the users of the sites to which they are associated. The information gathered by means of this type of cookies is used to measure the activity of the websites, apps or platforms, and to elaborate browsing profiles of the users of these sites, apps and platforms, aiming to introduce improvements depending on the analysis of the data that the users do.

Compartmental advertising cookies: they gather information about the preferences and personal choices of the user (retargeting) to allow the management, in an effective way, of the advertising spaces that the editor has included in a website, app or platform through which he provides the requested service.

Social cookies: they are established by the social network’s platforms in the services to allow sharing contents with their friends and networks. The social media platforms can track their online activity out of the services. This can affect the contents and the messages they see in the services they visit.

Affiliation cookies: they allow to track the visits coming from other websites that are affiliated to the website (affiliation companies).

Security cookies: they store encrypted information to avoid malicious attacks from third parties to the data saved in them.

• ACCORDING TO THE PROPERTY

Own cookies: are those that are sent to the terminal equipment of the user from an equipment or domain that is managed by the editor and from which it is provided the service requested by the user.

Third party cookies: are those that are sent to the terminal equipment of the user from an equipment or domain that is not managed by the editor, but by another entity that processes the data obtained by means of the cookies.

• ACCORDING TO THE CONSERVATION PERIOD

Session cookies: a type of cookies designed to search and store data while the user is accessing a website.

Persistent cookies: a type of cookies in which the data keep stored in the terminal and can be accessed and managed over a period defined by the owner of the cookie, and can last from a few minutes to several years.

MANAGEMENT OF THE COOKIES FROM THE BROWSER

Eliminating the cookies stored in the device: The cookies that are already stored in a device can be eliminated by deleting the browsing history, and in that way are also deleted the cookies of all the websites visited. However, it can also be lost part of the information stored (for instance, the user login data or the website preferences).

Management of the specific cookies of the website: In order to have a more precise control of the specific cookies in each site, the users can adjust their privacy settings and the cookies in their browser.

Blocking the cookies: Although most of the modern browsers can be set to avoid the installation of cookies in the devices, this can force the manual setting of some preferences every time a web or a site is visited. Moreover, some services and characteristics might not work correctly (for instance, the sign-in session with profile).
